Jane Rees (Hendon Golf Club) won the Spanish Senior Ladies’ Amateur Open Championship (11-12 February 2010) out of a field of 80. She was 6 shots ahead after the first day and extended it to 8! Pat Rex says it was a privilege being there and caddying for her.
Rita Davidson came a creditable 26th in the singles.
In addition Rita and Jane came fourth in the doubles event run over the first two days (9-10 Feb) one day 4BBB, one day foursomes
Pat thinks that they liked the conditions – pouring rain and VERY cold. They were able to place the ball within one club length all week and then on the last day it was a shotgun start because of the weather.
What a credit to Middlesex and Hendon!
